Pinellas County Deutsch Supporters Participate in "Beach Clean-up For Deutsch"

ST. PETE BEACH - Peter Deutsch supporters in St. Petersburg braved the elements to clean up beaches in Southern Pinellas County this weekend. Eleven volunteers from the Deutsch Pinellas County Steering Committee gathered at Pass-a-Grille for a beach clean-up to emphasize the Senate candidate's commitment to Florida's environment.

Despite the inclement weather, Deutsch's faithful arrived at 8 a.m. donning latex gloves and "Deutsch for Senate" T-shirts. “We are doing this clean-up because Peter has been a strong advocate for the environment with a 100 percent rating from the Sierra Club and “A” ratings across the board from other environmental groups,” said Lisa Fink, resident and activist of St. Petersburg.

Fink and her family combed the beaches alongside other local supporters filling up nearly all of their trash bags before finally deciding to seek shelter from the weather. Southern Pinellas Residents for Deutsch are planning more of these types of events to highlight the 22 year veteran's distinguished environmental record.

"Peter has been committed to protecting the environment since he first entered public service, and he will continue to demonstrate his belief on the importance of preserving Florida’s natural resources when he is elected to the U.S. Senate," Fink said.
