Police Officers Support Deutsch’s Senate Bid
The Florida
Police Benevolent Association Endorse Peter Deutsch For US Senate
FT. LAUDERDALE — Today Congressman Peter Deutsch and members of the Florida Police Benevolent Association (FPBA) held a joint press conference to announce FPBA’s endorsement of Peter Deutsch’s candidacy in the Democratic Primary for the US Senate.
This significant endorsement comes from the 30,000 members of FPBA for Deutsch's continuous support of proper funding for law enforcement in the state and across the nation.
Dick Brickman, Senior Vice President of the FPBA and President of the Broward County Chapter says that FPBA is endorsing Deutsch for his long record of fighting for the protections and benefits of police officers. “Congressman Deutsch has been a longtime friend of PBA and law enforcement,” said Brickman. "He was a friend when he was in the State House in Tallahassee and he remains a friend of the PBA in Washington, DC."
Rep. Deutsch has a 22-year record of advocacy for working hard for the people of Florida. The FPBA endorsement follows this weekend’s endorsement by the Florida AFL-CIO for his voting record, as well as a friendship and shared goals with organized labor.
"This is such an honor to receive the endorsement of the FPBA," said Deutsch. "I have fought tirelessly for the men and women of law enforcement for 22 years, ensuring that they get their fair-share. It is my hope as United States Senator to continue the fight for another 22 years."
Congressman Deutsch is the only Democratic candidate in the primary for US Senate to receive official backing from a police organization.
