MEDIA RELEASE
The "Fair Share" Announcement Tour
On Monday, June 14 and Tuesday, June 15, Congressman Peter Deutsch will board the FAIR SHARE SHUTTLE and fly to eight cities, launching his official senatorial campaign.
The congressman will swing through four cities on Monday, beginning in Ft. Lauderdale, followed by stops in Orlando, Tampa, and West Palm Beach. Tuesday's schedule sees the congressman in Jacksonville, Tallahassee, Panama City, and Pensacola.
The Fair Share theme refers to the widening gap between Florida's dynamic growth and its dwindling share of federal funds. Florida currently ranks 47th in the amount of money it receives from the federal government per capita.
47th. The number is stunning as is its everyday impact. But it will take a lifelong fighter with a street-level smarts and legislative know-how to finally get Florida its fair share.
In a culmination of man, moment and message, Rep. Deutsch will address specific issues related to this growing - but under-publicized - problem at each of his stops.
